Hi there ! My name is Malcolm Jeffrey, and I assist Elaine Panchal by performing Circuit Administration duties for the Vale of Stour Methodist Circuit.
By profession, I have been a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst for the whole of my adult life, working in office environments, with computers and IT equipment, and providing clerical, technical, support and administrational services.
At the same time, I have worshipped at Gig Mill Methodist Church since a child - my mum, Joy Jeffrey, is the Sunday School co-ordinator there - and in 2003 I volunteered to provide Gig Mill with our website, utilising my capacity as a programmer in the deeper service of the Church. Since then I have continued to use my workday skills to provide Gig Mill with poster and program designing, the Church newsletter, and worship graphics, hymn lyrics and computer displays for our Sunday services.
When the opportunity arose to apply for this Circuit Administrator post, it seemed to me to be the perfect marrying of my spiritual and professional lives, and I am finding the post enjoyable, and both humbling and spiritually fulfilling.
I am married to my wonderful wife Kay, with our two marvellous sons Tom and Joe, and Bertie the cat. I am a Marathon runner and cyclist, and a 40-year-long career playing live music currently sees me singing and playing bass in a local four-part close-harmony group called City Limits ; and I have a huge collection of "amusing" songs - especially those of Jake Thackray - which I will perform on guitar given the slightest excuse !
