Legislation requires all churches to ensure that children using church premises are 'Safe From Harm'. We are required to make provisions and to take all reasonable measures to ensure that this is so. The guidelines require us to maintain a comprehensive up to date register / list of ALL leaders, workers, teachers, helpers etc. etc. who work with children and young people on our premises.

    PLEASE NOTE !

Anyone who wishes to join any of our teams of children's workers or who is proposed for any such role must be registered with the circuit or the local church FIRST, before they begin. We are aware of the difficulties this implies but our responsibility is clear and we permit no exceptions to this policy.

All who join the children's / young peoples workers register will be asked for two references, these will be followed up in every case, this is now routine and is part of our commitment to provide a safe environment for children using our premises. Enhanced disclosures will be obtained via the Criminal Records Bureaux (CRB) through the Churches Agency for Safeguarding (CAS)
