 Dudley Wood Methodist Church

location:- Quarry Road, Dudley Wood, DY2 0DS

In 2006 Dudley Wood went through a transformation by moving from our large, old but well loved chapel, which was sold for housing development, into a new, smaller, modern Chapel more attuned to our present day smaller congregation.  We are using our new premises as a spring board to raise our profile in the local community.

The new Chapel was developed from an unused part of our 1960s built Sunday School, which has also been refitted to bring everything up to an excellent standard. The Sunday School building is used on every day of the week for Gardening Club, Dancing School, Aerobics and Operatic Society rehearsals – a real asset to the community – especially with our very large car park.

As well as our two church services every Sunday, we are hoping to develop a Guild which will be held on the last Monday of every month to which everyone will be welcome.

World Headlines !!
We hit world headlines recently causing a controversy about the need for Council Planning Permission to erect a wooden cross as a sign of our Christian faith. The Cross is now ready and will be in position very, very soon. The builder has his trowel poised awaiting delivery of the bricks.

This will be another step towards our aim of bringing more members into our close-knit church family and to continue to worship God on this site far into the future.
Stop Press News.
On February 21st. 2009 in the afternoon there will be a special service to mark the completion of this process.  It will be a service of consecration and of reconciliation, bringing together in worship all the people who for various reasons were caught up in the legislative difficulties and have helped us to achieve a sensible solution to the problem.
